Stay Connected to Paris 2024 Olympics with Google’s Real-Time Updates and Features

As the Olympic Games head to Paris in 2024, Google is gearing up to keep fans connected to all the action. With an array of features across Search, Gemini, YouTube, Google TV, and more, users can stay updated and engaged no matter where they are.

Google Search will offer real-time updates on events, athletes, and medal counts. Users can search for specific countries, sports, or the Games to access up-to-date schedules, results, top video highlights, and daily recaps. Localized content ensures schedules are in the user’s time zone, along with trending events and performance updates.

Google Maps and Waze will aid navigation through Paris, adjusting for restricted zones and road closures. Waze will notify drivers of traffic disruptions and allow them to share this information. New public transit features in Maps will show bus, train, or subway routes, factoring in transfers and ticket costs, and tracking journeys in real time. Immersive View and Google Arts & Culture will offer virtual experiences of Parisian landmarks, while curated restaurant lists will help users explore local cuisine.

YouTube, in collaboration with official broadcasters like NBCUniversal and Eurosport, will stream thousands of hours of Olympic content. Features like multiview will allow fans to watch up to four streams simultaneously. Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, will provide information about Olympic sports and athletes, and offer tips for hosting themed watch parties. Gemini can answer questions ranging from event details to snack ideas.

On the Google Play Store, users can find apps, games, and books related to the Olympics. The official Olympics app is featured, alongside language-learning apps for those looking to practice French. Google TV will provide a dedicated hub for the Games, offering access to live events, highlights, interviews, and stories. Google Pay and Visa’s Visa Paris 2024 campaign will enable users to collect digital mascots with each Visa transaction via Google Pay.

In the U.S., Google is partnering with Team USA and NBCUniversal to showcase their latest features in Olympic coverage. This will highlight how Search, Google Maps, and Gemini can enhance viewing experiences and keep users connected to the Olympic spirit.
